Hugz,

LOTV Wedding Box

Hi everyone! This is my 2nd week as guest designer for Lili of the Valley Challenges! I really wanted to make something special on this special occasion:) This week's challenge theme being "Celebrations"  I thought of an exploding wedding box which looks quite spectacular IRL. It's one of those rare projects  I'm really satisfied with:)

I chose one of the most beautiful ever wedding stamps called  Mr and Mrs and lots of  these gorgeous digital Blessings Papers from Rosey Posey Studios. Love them! Luckily for me they are digital so they never end:)).
The box is made of cardboard- yes, I have a very good guillotine:), then acrylic paint was applied on and the panels which were attached after being distressed, inked, sewn and glittered. The box is a cube ( 5 inches per side) and the cake inside is 4 inches tall- 2 inches tall each layer. That's in case someone would like to try this out:) And just a small tip; when you design the lid, make sure you make it slightly bigger- say 5.1 inches to make sure it fits the box:)

I used various die cuts to make some picture frames; I also added acetate underneath and lots of Wild Orchid Crafts flowers to embellish them.

Here are some close-ups:

The stamped image is actually the lid of the cake/box.  chose to make it also useful:) The bride's dress is ribbon-pieced (no idea if that term exists...lol). I loved the way this glittered ribbon looked like so I thought I could glue it on the dress. I added lots of pearls and stickles for a more spectacular effect.

And one of the picture frames:

Coloring medium: Promarkers
DP Rosey Posey Studios- Blessings Papers

The Wizard of Oz!

Hi my dear all! This week's challenge at Digital Pencil Too is a fabulous one: make a card/ project inspired by a book or story! Wow! I just loved the idea! There are so many Mo Manning images which simply make you feel like indulging in a fantasy world that nothing could be easier than picking one image!  In fact all Mo's characters seem to have a story to tell:)
I've always loved "The Wizard of Oz" as a story and the movie. Judy  Garland just makes the perfect Dorothy.
Don't want to bore you with childhood memories so I get down to business and show you my card...lol:

Fancy folded DT card for Digital Pencil Too

Hi my dear all!
Wow, girls, I have some fabulous news to share with you today! I've been keeping this for myself for about a week or so now but eventually I can share with you: I've been asked to join the Digital Pencil Too Design Team!!!!Isn't that awesome!!! This is like a dream come true!!! My very first stamp was a Mo Manning digi and that was only about 8 months ago and now I'm joining her fabulous team! Wow! I'm so very excited:)
Right now, my spare time is really scarce but the DT girls surely made me an offer I could not refuse...lol.
The challenge theme set for this week is "Flowers, flutters, fairies, fancy fold (use any or all)".
Isn't that fabulous? I really cannot imagine myself making a card without using at least one of those:).

My card is in fact a birthday card I made for my nephew who's 1 year old now. My sister is not exactly into boyish colors, this is the reason why I went for green, lime and orange. I chose this gorgeous image because he loves playing in the water and we all have to stay far away from him when he's given the bath, otherwise we get completely soaked.
It seems my printer ink is not waterproof and the dimensional gaze and distress stickles wiped it off. Sorry for that; imagine that the boy has been really dirty and the water got muddy...lol.
So, from the two F's I chose "flowers" and "fancy folds".  It's not exactly the classic 1yr old birthday card...lol but they all loved it and the boy wasn't even allowed to touch it, so I guess it was just perfect.

The inside is pretty simple:

Recipe:
Stamp: Mo Manning- Kai in a Tub
Medium: Copics (E000, E00, E21, E51, R20, B02, B00, B000, YG03, Y11,Y00, Y15, YR07,YR16, YR21, C0, 0)
DP: MME- Fine and Dandy- Tickled Pink and Cosmo Cricket- Togetherness
Embellies: Wild Orchid Crafts roses, leaves, metal corner and pins, ribbon and lace  from stash, brads from Joanna Sheen
Dies: classic and scalopped circle nesties, Cheery Lynn doily, label 16 nesties
Misc: antique linen and vintage photo distress inks, ranger distress stickles, diamond glaze
Sentiment: Lili of the Valley

Challenges: Crafty Creations -sparkly, Crafts and Me -stitches, My Mum's Craft shop - for a male, Scrapbook Sisters - anything goes, Sisterhood of Crafters - masculine birthday/anniversary, A Spoonful Of Sugar - Ribbons & Bows , Tuesday Throwdown -Masculine Card , Creative Stamp Friends - Birthdays, Aly's Sunday Challenge -  All About Kids, 2 Sisters -For A Guy, Bee Crafty -  Birthday for Little Ones, Catch The Bug -   It's A Man's World , Challenge Up Your Life - #46 Circles , Little Claire's  -  #9 Cards For Men, Wags 'n Whiskers - Masculine.

Here's my entry:

I have used Ebony and Willy and Mia for my card and masked them to create the scene. I imagined it as an anniversary card from son/daughter to parents:) The design is a bit complicated but I simply love using acetate on my cards and wanted something different.
