Lady Tilda

 Hi, ladies!

I was thinking whether or not to consider entering the challenge at Magnolia-Licious, first because I'm over my head with Christmas cards these days and secondly because pink and yellow are not exacly my favourite color combo. Still, I've seen some wonderful creations back there and since it is the first challenge at Magnolia-licious I couldn't resist the temptation.
So I come up with this girlie piece of card which in my opinion pairs better with the pinkish-yellow idea than a Christmas card.
The wonderful stamped image is Lady Tilda from Magnolia Fairytale Collection. The papers are Marianne Design - Eline's Pretty Paper Bloc - In The Meadow and the cardstock is from my local store. I also used Marianne design swirl and poinsettia (for the leaves) die-cuts, Martha Stewart doily lace and McGill pine branch punches.
I spent about an hour to make the roses after watching lots of tutorials here and there- sorry I don't have the links for that, but I'm sure you can find them easily. Anyhow, I made a mixture of them all and used scalloped circle nestabilities- the smallest ones- and cut about 8-10 for each rose (I used coffee filter for some and mulberry paper for the larger ones), then distressed the pieces and crumpled each layer before assembling the flower. Eventually I used common watercolors for shading and glitter.
Linda is colored with copics. I only have two yellow copics, and which is more, I don t even use theme very frequently lol ; still I managed to make Tilda look quite beautiful (luckily, she's beautiful anyway). So, I used E50, E51 and R20 for the face, Y11, YR21, Ivory Promarker and a tint of Y15 for the dress, same for the hair with an additional E33 and E51and RV13,BV00 and R20 (what a combo lol) for the rose.
Lace, and other embellishments are from my stash. The sentiment is a freebie from Raindrop Echo Designs.
I threw glitter and sparkles here and there and... voila.

I can tell you the card is prettier than in the picture :) with sparkles and colors. There are two foam-padded layers of scalloped ovals nestabilities behind Tilda which are not very clear in the picture.
As for the challenges I'm entering today, here they are:
          Magnolia-Licious - Pink and Yellow
7 Kids College Fund - Give Thanks
Creative Card Crew - Give Thanks

Thank you all ladies for visiting my blog and for your lovely words!
     Happy crafting,

     hugs, iulia

Such a beautiful card! I find that when you don't like the color combo (such as yellow and pink), it forces you to be creative in other ways! You've proved it with this lovely creation!

I don't know what happened because I left a comment on this card already. I remember mentioning those wonderful tassels! Well perhaps the comment is drifting amlessly around in cyber space. Still, I think your card is beautiful!
