La vita e bella...

    Hi again!

This would be my second post for today. My mother came by to look after my little one for a few days so... yupeee!!!! No more missing copics and torn papers! At least for now!

So, my second card for today is for my weekly participation in Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge, which now has a color theme: red, orange, yellow and neutrals. I've been playing with orange and red lately, mostly due to challenges. It's strange how challenges can make you follow a certain path or discover techniques you have never used before.

The digi is called Celebrate  and I thought I could use it to express joy given the bright colors required by the challenge so I did a bit of Photoshop and came with the sentiment "Life is Beautiful". I colored the image with copics (R27,08, 17, 20, E50,51, C01,03,05, YR07,YR16, YR21).  The papers are MME Colorful Christmas and Echo Park- A Walk in the Park. The flowers are made with a Sizzix Sizzlits die called Flower Blossom I think. I'm having these Sizzix dies for a long time and almost never used. I thought I should give it a try here , I think the flowers look pretty. I added some glitter, small stars and a bit of lace. That's  it. Hope you like it!

These are the challenges for this card:

Mo Digital Pencil- color challenge
Friday Sketchers - a sketch by Jorunn
Crafty Catz - Flowers
Stamptacular Sunday Challege  -Whateva
Paper Play Challenges- Layer it up
City Crafter Challenge - Sew something

    Thanks again for coming by!

    Hugs and blessings, Iulia

Magnolia-licious Challenge

    Hello everyone!

Thanks to your kind encouragements you sent to me either by e-mail or in blog comments I really feel like making some new cards and try to keep up the challenges running these days. Thank you all so much!!!
For the Magnolia-licious inspiration challenge I used Sitting Tilda from the Bon Voyage Collection.  I have 4 "sitting Tilda" and this one seemed to fit more in a comfy warm place as offered in the inspirational picture, which is great by the way.

I colored Tilda with copics (E50,51,R20, YR04,YR07, YR16, YR21, E33, E77, E37). The papers are digital but really can't remember what mark.I have so many and I really have to put some order in that digital stuff too. If by any chance someone knows where these lovely papers come from, please let me know. They are all from the same pack. I distressed a bit the edges, inked them up with antique linen and added gold glitter. I also used some ribbons from stash and a paper doily also colored with copics and antique linen. The rose in WOC, also glittered, the sentiment is some Photoshop work I've been doing and the frame is a Sizzix die.

The challenges for this card are :

Magnolia-licious- inspiration photo
Totally Gorjuss -As you like it
Cute Card Thursday- A sketch by Linn
One Stop Craft Challenge- Anything Goes
One Stitch at a Time Challenge- picture inspiration

Thanks for visiting and have a great week!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge- A Trip Around the World

Hello everyone!

First I would like to thank from the heart to all those who have been visiting my blog lately. So many talented people have encouraged me with their kind words I feel I don't deserve. I really know where I stand and that I have to work much more on my coloring and shadowing and highlights and so on; I'll hopefully do that as soon as I can afford to buy more markers:). I hear people around saying they don't remember what colors they've been using on a certain image. Well, that's not gonna happen in my case cause I only have a bunch of them:)). Sometimes I don't put them down because I don't think I'm an example to follow on coloring.

For entering Mo Manning's DP Challenge I chose this beautiful image- Irma and Vieno which features two Finnish little girls. Well, luckily Mo stated that they were Finnish because I couldn't see any light blond hair around and that's how I understand the "concept" of being Finnish:). There is a large selection of digis with people/children from all around the world in Mo's shop. It is so sweet of her to think globally! I guess this is part of being a great artist too.
Now, back to my image. It was colored with Promarkers back for Christmas but forgot to use. I only had to find some matching papers which are Webster Pages- Waiting for Santa collection and some embellishments, namely roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, ribbons from stash and dew drops from Robin's Nest. I don't know exactly where the sentiment came from ( I guess Papermania) but I liked the gold letters so I mounted it on a nestie too.

Thanks for stopping by! It's always a pleasure hearing from people who actually understand one's madness for crafting and stamping!

It's Playtime

Hi and welcome to my blog!

I've just finished my card for Mo's DP Challenge where the current theme is "It's Playtime!". I'm not totally satisfied with the result but, since it involves children and their toys, I'd say it doesn't have to "look"  impeccable... hehe.
I used a brand new digi- well, for me,at least - called Moving.  Really meaningful, isn't it?

Aren't they sweet Mo's images? I just adore them.  I colored this little sweetheart while playing with my 1 yr and a half little one, 'cause it so reminds me of him:). I should have colored his hair lighter still:).
I colored the image with Promarkers, too many to write down their names and mounted it on foam pads. The backing paper is from Wild Rose Studio - Polka Dots.
I've also used MS doily lace punch, Marianne creatables- swirls and Robin's Nest dew drops.
The flowers are all handmade and the sentiment is also Mo Manning. It comes with a lovely image which you can find here in the store.

It's quite late now, so I'll just put down the challenges I'm entering this card:
One Stop Craft Challenge -card for a male

I wish you all a peaceful night/day wherever you are!

Hugs,
iulia

Dinner Tilda

Hi, everyone!

I've got a busy week so far but, hopefully managed to finish in time my first Magnolia card for the year and enter it at Just  Magnolia and Magnolia Down Under Challenges
I used Dinner Tilda , my very first Magnolia stamp and I just love this cutie's attitude. She's sitting there waiting for someone but,at the same time she seems so confident:) I'm always nervous while waiting so I guess I admire that attitude... hehe.

So, here's my card:

I colored this sweetie with copics this time ( used R27, R08, R17, E50, 51, R02, G07,14, E33, E43, E47) I have no idea why she's so pinkish in the picture, she looks great in real life:(. The papers are digital from Sassy Designs Tranquility Paper Pack, and Webster's pages- Waiting for Santa.

The die-cuts I've used are labels nestabilities, Marianne design creatables- the scalloped circle and ribbon die which is actually gold but hardly noticeable in the picture:). The sentiment is made from peel-offs from Echo Park then mounted on pads. Flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.... originally... hehe, but colored them a bit with my copics. I ran out of 2,5 cm red roses so I colored up a cream one, but, since the picture is so bad, one could hardly notice... hehehe. Well, I just cannot refrain from adding a personal touch and ruin everything...

And the challenges I have in mind for little Tilda are:
Just Magnolia - Anything goes with buttons ( well, mine is just button:))

Thanks to all coming by and wish you all the best!

Hugs, iulia

Mo's Challenge Blog - Challenge #64 - We're Going Retro

Hi, everyone!

It seems I'm stuck on Mo digis these past few days and keep entering challenges although I might not be particularly fond of the theme. So, this week at Mo's Digital Pencil the theme is Going Retro.
I really had a hard time dealing with this one, partly because my printer broke down and couldn't print an image that actually fit the challenge theme and partly because retro style was not exactly my cup of cake. I was born in the eighties so I had to do some research to be able to come up with something.
I must admit I'm not really satisfied
with the result but at least I gave it a shot, didn't I? The word challenge stands for a demanding but stimulating undertaking and I really hate playing the coward here... hehe.

Well, this would be my card:

And a close-up of this adorable baby girl:

I went for bright colors, handmade flowers and this gorgeous cutie, you can find here in the store. I had it printed a few days ago, before my printer broke down. In order to give it a retro touch I chose to gray scale everything except for the dress. So I guess it looks a bit weird, especially for  a baby:)). I colored it with copics (used the usual greys C01, C03, C05 and special black and RV13, RV06, R20 for the dress). I added some acrylic paint and mounted on a Marianne design creatable and a circle scalloped nestie.
The paper is from Bo Bunny- A gift of Love collection and the sentiment from Echo Park- A Walk in the Park.
The flowers are handmade from fabric, lace and paper and the leaves are made of cardstock using shape scissors, then I painted them and added a coat of dimensional glaze (unfortunately unnoticeable in the picture:(). I added some lace, rhinestones and glitter and... that would be all! Hope you like it! It looks a bit retro to me... hehe!

Since I worked so hard on it:)) I surely have to place it in some challenges. So, I'm entering it as follows:
Cute Card Thursday- Out with the old ( I definitely have lots of old stuff here; flower materials, lace, papers...)
Anything goes challenge blog - C is for ( cake in my case)
Papertake Weekly - Anything goes
Secret crafter- Tons of texture
Charizma Cards- Birthday cards
Creative card - New Beginnings
One Stop Card - A card for children
Stamp Something- Use a digi
7 Kids College Fund- Hot or cold, choose your extreme (I guess mine would be hot:)
Stamping Royalty - Birthday Card
Make it colourful- Warm or cool colours ( mine would be surely warm)

This time I really took the time to do a bit of "challenge research":)
Thanks again for dropping by and for your kind words!

Hugs,
